The Y is committed to ensuring everyone enjoys a fun and safe summer. That’s why we’re offering the Be A Water Ready Family Water Safety Awareness Event – a free opportunity for families to become “Water-Ready.” Join us and learn vital water safety skills that can significantly reduce the risk of drowning and build the confidence and competence needed to enjoy time in and around the water responsibly.

Special addition: Staff from Raging Waves Waterpark will join us to help families get water-safe before the water park opens. Their team will be on deck as lifeguards and water safety experts, sharing real-world guidance and answering questions.

What to expect:

• Exercises to help kids adjust to being in the water
• Instruction in two skill sets kids can use if they unexpectedly find themselves in the water: Jump, Push, Turn, Grab and Swim, Float, Swim
• Safety topics like what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help
• Fun activities that reinforce skills
• Raffle Prizes

What to bring:

• Swimsuit and towel
  • 0-2 & some 3 year olds require in-water parent participation.
  • 4+ kids will be in the pool on their own, parents will watch from the pool deck.
