Meet Rosy, a group exercise instructor who’s been leading classes at the Y for 5 years. She brings non-stop energy to WERQ and a motivating spirit to Enhance, creating spaces where members challenge themselves, have fun, and leave feeling proud of what they’ve accomplished.

What was your initial motivation for becoming a fitness instructor?
The chance to share my energy. If you leave with a smile then I did my job
What's your favorite aspect of teaching fitness classes?
When someone challenges themselves, whether it be attending my class for the first time or taking it up as part of their fitness journey.
Describe your teaching style in one sentence.
I bring the concert to you!
How do you measure the success of your fitness classes?
With the energy I feel in the room! I can have 2, 3, or 6 people in my class. If everyone is having a great time, giving me energy back, it feels like 30 people and that’s a great class!
How does teaching group-ex classes impact your own fitness journey?
Speaking as someone who got into fitness in her mid-thirties and loves it. Becoming a fitness instructor holds me accountable.
What's some advice you would give to a new class participant?
Take it at your own pace. It will all be new, so you won’t know the choreography. Give yourself a break and challenge yourself to come back.
Tell us about a highlight moment in your fitness instructor journey.
Every time someone comes up to me after class and says I made their day!
