Looking Forward to the Best. Summer. Ever!

A Message from our School Age Child Care Director, Amy Peterson

It’s that exciting time of year when the days are longer and the sun invites us out of our winter hibernation.  Trees are budding, flowers are blooming as we think of hot summer days, ice cream trucks and splashing in the pool.  Summer is coming and there is excitement in the air!  All of this excitement fills us with joy as we begin to plan for summer camp.  We can envision the reuniting of old friends and some of our favorite counselors.  Our goal is to enrich the kid’s minds and bodies with arts and crafts, STEAM activities, dancing, music, large group games, exploration and so much more.  We will fill our hot summer days with experiences and memories that can last a lifetime!

We have much to look forward to this summer.  We will be back in the swimming pool.  Outdoor water days are the best and we will continue to have plenty of water fun along with swimming in the indoor pool.  Let the splashing begin!  We will also be exploring the woods.  Through the generosity of Nancy Martin and the Martin family we now have access to the woods adjacent to the Y’s property.  We have aptly named the woods, The Martin’s Nest, in honor of the Martin family.  The Martin’s Nest will be a place of exploration, conversation, theater and endless creative ventures.  We are beyond thrilled with new addition to our summer camp stations.

Registration is just around the corner.  Beginning April 5th, you will be able to register for camp online through our new website!  We will be eagerly watching for our cherished SAFE and summer camp friends to return and hoping for those special new kids that will inevitably come along and enhance our camp in ways we couldn’t even imagine!  We invite you all to be a part of the Best.Summer.Ever!

See you soon for all our exciting camp adventures!
