BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (SAFE)

  • Before & After School Counselors

Our School Age Child Care Department is hiring part-time positions to support our growing Before and After School program. Responsibilities include direct supervision of children at off-site school locations in Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, Somonauk, Leland, Hinckley-Big Rock and Newark. Counselors plan and implement program activities, curriculum, games, and crafts. This is a fun, hands-on position and offers the potential for growth within the Y. FITNESS

  • Aqua Fitness Instructor

The Aqua Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing class participants with a well-designed, physically safe program to serve the needs of the class participants. The Water Fitness Instructor must be an energetic, dedicated and motivated individual who enjoys teaching fitness to groups of adults. The Aqua Fitness Instructor must be able to effectively teach the class from the pool deck.

  • Attain and maintain one or more of the following professional certifications: AEA, SCW, AFAA, ACE, YMCA Instructor, Aqua Zumba or WATERinMOTION
  • Maintain current CPR/AED certification
  • Must be able to teach from the deck to an average class size of 15 participants
  • Presents a neat professional appearance and wears appropriate exercise attire
  • Must be able to create class curriculum using teaching methods and strategies that incorporate cueing, verbal and visual as well as choreographed to music appropriate to the class format.

These are part-time positions and instructors will be paid a competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications. FRONT DESK STAFF

Responsible for the program registration, parent check-in and out, membership engagement and various other front desk duties as well as taking the lead on supervising the building. Afternoon shifts Monday-Sunday at Central Branch, must be available to work at least 2 shifts per week. Pay commensurate with experience.
