Joyful Joints
Are your
hinges feeling rusty? Then join Laura as she leads you through a fun
routine of exercises specially approved for people who experience joint and
muscle aches that often result from arthritis, related diseases, or injury
and for those who need a program to ease back into exercising. This class
will aid in decreasing pain and stiffness, improve joint flexibility and
mobility, increase muscular strength and energy level, and improve balance
and coordination. Swimming skills are not required, but you should be
comfortable in water.
Intense Deep Water
Join the
Roughnecks! We will lead you through the Navy Seals workout. You’ll swim
to warm-up, then stretch before going into this very intense interval
workout. Pull-ups on the platforms are followed by a final stretch. This
high-intensity aerobic workout will leave you feeling very energized and
full of the spark of life. Must feel comfortable in the deep water
(flotation devices are allowed). This is not social hour. Individual goals
will be set at the beginning of each session. Limited enrollment.
Aquatone
This class
consists of calisthenics and toning. Use the water's resistance and aqua
equipment to isolate and focus on each muscle group from head to toe.
H2O
Cardio
Jump into a
new fitness level. This energy packed class is a great way to relieve your
stress while getting in shape. We will use the water’s resistance to tone
and strengthen your muscles and get your heart pumping.
Weekend Water
Warriors (WWW)***
Get that
energy boost you need to get you through the weekend. Join us Saturday
mornings for an hour long mix of cardio and toning. This class utilizes the
deep end of the pool for a very low impact/high cardio workout. Swimming
skills are not necessary, but you should be comfortable in deep water using
flotation. (Not offered in the summer session)
Aquanastics
This class is
designed for all ages and fitness levels. The class incorporates
cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and balance
training. It also enhances mobility and circulation. Great for people
with any orthopedic problems or physical limitations.
Gentle Splash (Formerly "Fit for Delivery")
Designed for beginners or
participants needing a low impact exercise. Ideal for new moms or
soon-to-be new moms, as well as those in need of a low impact exercise
program. This class incorporates safe and effective exercises to
stretch/strengthen muscles and increase flexibility with gentle aerobics.
Exercise during and after pregnancy helps you carry the baby and cope with
any postpartum baby blues. Physician's approval will be requested for
participation.

Initially, you must sign up for an Aqua Fitness Pass ahead of time at the Font Desk of the Central Branch! After you have your pass you may come and go to classes as you please. There is no need to sign up for each class in advance, just show your pass to the front desk staff on your way to the pool. If you have any questions, feel free to call the Front Desk or Fitness Director at 630-552-4100.
Aqua Fitness
Pricing:
One monthly fee
covers it all! With our "Unlimited Aqua Fitness Pass" you can participate in aqua fitness classes
as often as you like! $20 per month for Members / $40
per month for Non-Members. Payment will be valid for one month from date of
purchase.
***Saturday Weekend Water Warriors: If you choose to only attend the Saturday WWW class, you may purchase a special one day "Saturday Only Pass" for $10M / $20NM per month. Otherwise, the WWW class is covered under the monthly Unlimited Aqua Fitness Pass for the fee listed above.
+++Gentle Splash will be offered as a Monday/Wednesday class for only $15M / $30NM per month. This class is not covered by the Unlimited Aqua Fitness Pass.
